Compassionate Inquiry Somatic Therapy

Compassionate Inquiry is a somatic psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté that gently uncovers and releases layers of childhood trauma, constriction and suppressed emotion embedded in the body, that are at the root of physical and mental illness and addiction.

In our sessions, we’ll explore your intention- what it is that you would like help with – through a curious and compassionate inquiry. I'll gently invite you to connect with the sensations within your body, particularly when exploring triggers or emotions. This mindful connection allows us to navigate emotions like sadness, grief, anger, shame, or fear with grace, avoiding overwhelm.

 

Through this transformative process, we create a nurturing space for the release of deep-seated pain and limiting beliefs, paving the way for a return to a harmonious state of balance;. Weaving in elements of IFS (internal family systems), we will approach some parts of yourself that you might be judging, begrudging, or that may be crying out for help.

 


Uncover the roots of your challenges


Together, we will explore the origins of your challenging behaviors and reactions, recognizing them not as flaws, but as survival strategies forged during childhood. These strategies, which became defense mechanisms in adulthood, are not a reflection of your true essence.

My role is to help you unravel and understand these defenses, guiding you toward a profound reconnection with your authentic Self—the vibrant core of who you are. Let's embark on this
empowering journey together.

Conscious Connected Breathwork Therapy

Nurture healing through the wisdom of the body, addressing both physical and emotional aspects.

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a somatic therapy. During an hour-long session, where you will be lying down, I will guide you to connect your inhales to your exhales. The rhythm of the
breath, used in this
technique, influences neural activity, enhances memory recall and expands emotional awareness. It helps to release suppressed blockages from the autonomic nervous system.


Breathing is a life-sustaining activity that we practice instinctively from the moment we are born until the moment we die. Sometimes, when in stress or during a traumatic event, we tend to hold our breath, which pushes the stress or trauma into the body. Guided Breathwork sessions can help you reduce stress, deal with stuck emotions, and transform negative
thoughts.


Conscious Connected Breathing can also create access to an altered state of consciousness often leading to the experience of bliss and transcendence.
